The Brian McCombe Band is based in Brittany in the heart of one of the worlds most vibrant centers of celtic music and culture.
Vocals, Uilleann pipes
Widely accepted as one of the greatest male voices in the world of celtic / folk music, Brian also plays the uilleann pipes and composer of his own songs.
These last 20 years, Brian has played all over Europe and the U.S.A, finally settling in Brittany forming the Brian McCombe Band.
ACOUSTIC GUITAR
With a great passion for traditional music, Breton guitarist Laurent naturally grew up with the Breton tradition, later discovering and playing the traditional music of Ireland and UK.
FIDDLE
Life long fan of Irish, Breton and Quebecois traditional music, Dominique is a virtuoso of traditional fiddle playing.
Played with the groupes KOUN and GWAZIGAN, and also plays with fiddler Pierrick Lemou.
BODHRAN - PERCUSSION
From Belfast, 'Hopi' has lived in Brittany since 1992, so not suprisingly he has played with many of the most celebrated Breton groupes such as : Barzaz, Bleizi Ruz, An Tourtan, Elixir, Guichen Quartet...and also worked with Alain Stivell, Steve Shehan, etc...
A renowned master of the Bodhran, he has also
much experience with musicians from a wide variety of musical traditions which has nourished his passion for traditional music the world over.
BOUZOUKI, FLUTES, DIDGERIDOO, KEYBOARDS
The most recent member of the band, multi-instrumentist Chris, has added a new sound and dynamic to the group. He plays principally traditional flutes/whistles and cittern / bouzouki + various other instruments including mandolin, bodhran, keyboards, didgeridoo...
On his solo album Chris has worked with Sylvain Barou(Guidewires), Dan Ar Braz, Michael McGoldrick (Capercaillie, Lunasa, Afro-Celts), Alain Genty, Annie Ebrel. . .
